Top Bollywood Actresses of 2012

2012 has been an excellent year for all the Actresses of Bollywood. More number of Women-centric films was produced this year and we got to see many films where the heroines took the lead as the main hero of the film. Actresses like Sridevi, Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra have proved their acting talent to the delight of the movie-goers. The list will obviously start with one of the most loved and admired actresses of 1980s and 1990s:

1. Sridevi: Sridevi, very popularly known as the ‘Hawa-Hawai girl’ made her very deserving comeback this year with ‘English Vinglish’. She looked very elegant, dignified and mesmerizing as a Sari-clad Indian traditional housewife. Her calm and composed acting made her character, so admirable in the film that she surely deserves shower of Awards. The film has been directed by Gauri Shinde and this is her first film as a Director.

2. Vidya Balan: Vidya Balan’s power-packed intense acting in ‘Kahaani’ made people believe that a film doesn’t only require glamour and action for getting viewers. She has been showered with appreciation for this film and she truly deserves to be called the Hero of the film.

3. Priyanka Chopra: Priyanka Chopra has always proved herself to be a highly talented actress. Her portrayal of an autistic girl in ‘Barfi’ made her reputation even stronger.

4. Katrina Kaif: Katrina Kaif can be rightly called as one of the most successful actresses of 2012 with hits films like ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ with Salman Khan and ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ with Shahrukh Khan.

5. Anushka Sharma: Young, vibrant, cheerful, dynamic and spontaneous actress Anushka Sharma, has made her presence felt in the film ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ with her sheer talent of acting. I’m sure that she will go a very long way in Bollywood.

6. Sonakshi Sinha: Young, sweet and cheerful Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of Actor Shatrughan Sinha, had the maximum number of Hit films. She has acted with Akshay Kumar in ‘Rowdy Rathore’, Ajay Devgan in ‘Son of Sardaar’ and Salman Khan in ‘Dabangg 2’. All the 3 films earned more than Rs. 100 crores profit.

The other Actresses who made a mark are Kareena Kapoor for whom; this year has been very special as she has tied the knot with Actor Saif Ali Khan. Her films, this year were Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’, ‘Heroine’ and ‘Talaash’.

Deepika Padukone’s act of a bold girl in ‘Cocktail’ has been noticed and appreciated.
Parineeti Chopra’s talent as an actress has been recognized in ‘Ishaqzaade’.
