Vidya Balan is now married to Sidharth Roy Kapur

I remember watching Vidya Balan on Television, way back in 1996. It was a TV Serial called ‘Hum Paanch’ on Zee TV. The serial was the first entrepreneurial venture of Television Queen Ekta Kapoor. The serial was about 5 sisters who had their own way of living, full of fun and enthusiasm. Vidya Balan played the role of ‘Radhika’, the second sister out of 5. As a regular viewer of the show, ‘Radhika’ was my personal favourite as she wore spectacles just like and was also termed as the ‘Intelligent one’ by hers sisters.

Several years Later, I was happy again to see the same ‘Radhika’ of ‘Hum Paanch’ as a young lady and a model of many TV commercials. Very soon, she was seen in a Music album, ‘Euphoria’ with the lead singer Palash Sen. The video was directed by film-maker Pradeep Sarkar and he was so impressed by Vidya that he took her as a heroine for his film ‘Parineeta’ opposite Saif Ali Khan. The film was based on a Bengali novel written by Sarat Chandra Chatterjee and he got an opportunity to showcase her acting skills in a power packed role of a girl called ‘Lalita’. She received The Filmfare Award for the Best Debut Female for this film. This film saw the arrival of an actress in Bollywood.

After ‘Parineeta’, there was no looking back for this talented actress. She acted in films like ‘Lage Raho MunnaBhai’ opposite Sanjay Dutt, ‘Heyy Babyy’ opposite Akshay Kumar, ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’, and ’Kismat Konnection’ opposite Shahid Kapur. The films for which she was most appreciated were ‘Paa’, ‘Ishqiya’, ‘The Dirty Picture’ and ‘Kahaani’. She was honoured with a National Award for Best Actress for her brave acting in ‘The Dirty Picture’.

On 14th December, 2012 this talented actress became Mrs. Sidharth Roy Kapur. Vidya Balan married the CEO of UTV Motion Pictures in Mumbai. The wedding took place in the presence of the groom’s and bride’s parents, relatives and close friends. It was a very private affair away from the glare of media.

I hope, she continues acting and we get to see her in more challenging and performance oriented roles. She is one of those few actresses who have changed the male dominated film Industry. She is considered to be the Hero of films like ‘The Dirty Picture’ and ‘Kahaani. We wish her a very happy married life and May she acts in more female centric films which will bring a change in the status of Women in the society and lead to the empowerment of Women in India.

It has been reported recently that Facebook has crossed the mark of over one billion active users. This data makes it the King of Internet and a huge potential traffic generator. Many users are still not complete aware of all the features and services of Facebook. It is not merely used for chatting with friends. One important point to be metioned here is about privacy. Users need to be very careful about sharing personal information like mobile numbers, email IDs or pictures.
Facebook offers a wide platform for promoting any small business, or any product or a website/Blog through its pages. Creating a Facebook Page and promoting a brand can generate huge exposure and traffic.

How to create a Facebook Page?

How to create a Facebook Page?

What is a Facebook Page?
A Facebook page is a one stop platform to showcase all information that we wish to promote to generate traffic. It is just like a web page or a blog. A Facebook Page can be used to promote a website, blog, small business and any intellectual property with legal rights ownership. A page ensures search engine visibility and online presence. A page can be created from our own personal account. The best thing about Facebook pages is the fact that they are friendly to the search engines.
How to create a Facebook Page?
1. Click on ‘Create a page’ option from your own profile page.
2. Choose the most relevant category of the page from the 6 listed categories.
3. Select a name for your page. The name needs to be selected wisely as it will form the url of the page and it can never be changed later. The name will be permanent.
4. Profile picture – The profile picture can be the logo in case of a business, a personal picture in case of a celebrity or an image of that suits the person or the brand.
5. About section: This is the most important tool which can be used to describe what the page is all about.
6. Like button: Visitors can click on the Like button when they like the contents of the Page. More number of Likes increases the reputation of the Page. Usually celebrities and highly popular pages get huge number of Likes, subscribers and visitors. A Facebook Page under the name of a celebrity or highly popular brand is also known as a Fan Page.
7. Body area: The body area is the main function area of the administrator. It is here, where we can upload the links of our published articles and promote them. While uploading links, the thumbnails option can also be seen. We can upload the thumbnail image if it is relevant or if we have the right to do so.
From my personal experience, I would like to share something here. We don’t upload images to our articles on Expertscolumn. So, every time, I try to upload a link of my published article, a thumbnail image also emerges which is usually a profile picture of some other writer. In this case, we should click on the no thumbnail option because the image shown has no relevance to the content of the article an neither do I own it. I feel all the writers of Expertscolumn opt for no thumbnail option every time they upload a link of their published article on Facebook.
By uploading our articles published on Expertscolumn.com, we can expect to attract good number of visitors from Facebook which will help us enormously in increasing page views thereby generating more reveue from our articles.

There is no egg in eggplant, nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple.
English muffins weren't invented in England or French fries in France .
Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat.
Boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig..

And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth, beeth? One goose, 2 geese.
If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?

If teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?
People recite at a play and play at a recital?
Ship by truck and send cargo by ship?
Have noses that run and feet that smell?

How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites?
You fill in a form by filling it out and in which, an alarm goes off by going on.

When the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible.

There is a two-letter word that perhaps has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that is 'UP.'

It's easy to understand UP, meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP ?At a meeting, why does a topic come UP?Why do we speak UP and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report?
We call UP our friends. And we use it to brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver; we warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and some guys fix UP the old car.At other times the little word has real special meaning.People stir UP trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses. To be dressed is one thing, but to be dressed UP is special.A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP.We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UP at night.

We seem to be pretty mixed UP about UP!To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP, look the word UP in the dictionary. In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost 1/4th of the page and can add UP to about thirty definitions. If you are UP to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used.It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don't give UP, you may wind UP with a hundred or more. When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding UP.When the sun comes out we say it is clearingUP.
When it rains, it wets the earth and often messes things UP.
When it doesn't rain for awhile, things dry UP.

One could go on and on, but I'll wrap it UP,for now my time is UP,so........it is time to shut UP!

Jodi tor daak shune keu naa ashe tobe ekla cholo re

Translation into English

Here is the translation in prose of the Bengali original rendered by Rabindranath Tagore himself.

"If they answer not to thy call walk alone.
If they are afraid and cower mutely facing the wall,
O thou unlucky one,
open thy mind and speak out alone.
If they turn away, and desert you when crossing the wilderness,
O thou unlucky one,
trample the thorns under thy tread,
and along the blood-lined track travel alone.
If they do not hold up the light when the night is troubled with storm,
O thou unlucky one,
with the thunder flame of pain ignite thy own heart
and let it burn alone."

Where the mind is without fear

"Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action --
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake."

Self-Esteem : Characteristics of People with high Self-Esteem

The word ‘Self Esteem’ refers to one’s evaluation of one’s own self. Self Esteem is different from Self Concept. Self Concept is what we think about our own self and Self Esteem is how to ‘estimate’ or ‘judge’ ourselves - good or bad, positive or negative. Self Esteem can be taken as an estimation or evaluation of our own self by us. Self Esteem is an important factor as it directly influences person’s overall behaviour, relationships, academic performance and professional success. Self-worth, Self-regard, Self-respect and Self-integrity are all related concepts of Self-esteem.

Psychologist Branden conceptualized ‘Self Esteem’ as a combination of Self-confidence and Self-respect. According to him, Self-confidence stands for ‘a feeling of personal capacity’ and Self-respect stands for ‘a feeling of personal worth’. “The experience of being competent to cope with the basic challenges and being worth of happiness” is what Branden had to say about Self-esteem.

Our Self Esteem is a result of our upbringing, society, circumstances and experiences of life. Self Esteem can be high or low depending one a person’s way of thinking and understanding of life’s circumstances.

Characteristics of people with high Self Esteem:
1. They understand, believe, like, love, value and trust themselves.
2. They trust their own judgment and act according to it.
3. They defend their own values, principles and opinions whenever faced with opposition.
4. They feel secure of themselves and the choices they make ad never feel guilty for a decision once made.
5. They focus on the present time and don’t waste time pondering over past mistakes and worrying about future challenges.
6. They live in the present but they do plan for the future.
7. They accept differences with others with dignity be it difference of power, position or financial status.
8. They never consider themselves as superior or inferior to others.
9. They are sensitive to others’ feelings and emotions.
10. They never take advantage of others or try to flourish at the expense of others.
11. They believe in collaboration and synergy. They are against unhealthy competition. They believe in creating a win-win situation.
12. They never manipulate others or try to take undue advantage of others.

Every human being craves for social acceptance. Love, respect and security are basic desires of all. A positive or high Self Esteem equips people with confidence and optimism. These qualities enable a person to reach his/her goal and achieve great heights in life. People with high Self Esteem understand that it is the core necessity of a person to be happy. They create several avenues of happiness for them and for those around them. Enhanced Self Esteem leads to positive social relationships which will lead to a harmonious society.

Conscious and concrete steps towards ‘Self-growth’

‘Self-growth’ will happen when we take certain conscious and concrete steps towards improving our selves so as to fit into the concept of our ‘perfect mental image’. But sometimes, our own mind misleads us with a ‘non-achievable creation of self image' and it makes us chase a goal which is actually non-realistic in nature.
We often tend to create an image of yourselves in our minds - an image of perfection and success. And we often compare our ‘mental image of perfection’ with our actual being. This comparison often leads to self criticism and low self esteem.
When we find our actual self, way different from what we wish ourselves to be, we reject ourselves. This unhealthy comparison between the 'actual self' and the 'image of perfect self' results in lower self-esteem. A sense of 'not good enough' is created and we find difficulty in facing the World as it badly hurts our self-respect and self-confidece.
As we go on chasing this goal which may be way beyond our reach, we sometimes even fall with more loss of self esteem. The feeling of ‘not good enough’ is created by our own self. We lack awareness as to how our mind misleads us. This lack of awareness results in wastage of effort towards achieving a goal which is very high. With awareness of these negative emotional outbursts, we can avoid chasing these false images of perfection.
It’s harsh and un-healthy [mentally] to compare ourselves with anyone in this World or even with our own created ‘self of perfection’. To some extent, working constructively towards a desired goal is what is needed but not beyond a certain limit. Some common goals can be to attain perfection in all spheres of life, to become admirable and respectable by one and all, to do well in the field of education, sports or profession. There is a huge craze to attain a perfect slim and slender figure and a flawless complexion. In the process, specially the teenagers, go to the extent of abnormal behaviour with their family members and peers, if they don’t feel themselves adquete enough to face everyone. Real confidence comes from inner beauty and self esteem. We often come across news of teenagers committing suicide for not being able to perform well in their exams. Performance in academics has nothing to do with achievement of success and happiness in life.
The only solution here is to create a positive self esteem. A positive Self Esteem can be created by accepting and loving ourselves just as we are and not judging ourselves with unrealistic parameters.

High Self Esteem leads to High Self Confidence, Success and Happiness

9 Steps Towards Assertive Behaviour

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Krishna_D.]Krishna D.

Assertive behaviour is " a form of behavior characterized by a confident declaration or affirmation of a statement without need of proof; this affirms the person's rights or point of view without either aggressively threatening the rights of another (assuming a position of dominance) or submissively permitting another to ignore or deny one's rights or point of view" according to Dorland's Medical Dictionary.

The concept of Assertiveness came into public focus with the help of books like:

1. Your Perfect Right: A Guide to Assertive Behavior (1970) by Robert E. Alberti, and
2. When I Say No, I Feel Guilty: How To Cope Using the Skills of Systematic Assertiveness Therapy (1975) by Manuel J. Smith.

These days Training on Assertiveness has become very popular. The usual content of Assertiveness training includes:

1. To enable people understand the difference between aggressiveness and assertiveness,
2. To enable people understand the difference between passive behaviour and assertive behaviour,
3. To create awareness of personal rights,
4. To inculcate the skills of verbal and non-verbal assertivness
5. To develop the capability of fulfilling one's wants and desires through proper communication and cooperation,
6. To enable people express their thoughts, views, opinions, wishes, desires etc in a confident and comfortable manner,
7. To develop the ability to initiate and maintain healthy social relationship with others,
8. To enable people control their anger constructively. Anger comes with tremendous energy, if it is used effectively and productively, it will bring positive outcomes and vice versa.
9. To develop positive self esteem as it is closely associated with Assertiveness.

According to Robert G. Jerus, the following 9 steps will enable us to be more assertive thereby maintain a harmonious relation with others. [Robert G. Jerus is the founder of Success Dynamics International, which empowers organizations to perform at exceptional levels by releasing the power of communication.]

1. The first step is to understand the distinction between assertiveness and aggressiveness. Assertive people believe in promoting their own rights rather than stepping on those of others. They have utmost respect for others' rights at the same time.
2. We need to have clear boundaries in our minds while dealing with others.
When we are clear about our limits and boundaries, others will also come to know about their limits as well.
3. We should let people know our position politely without allowing our position or point of view, be ignored. Our needs are also important.
4. We should affirm ourselves and our good qualities with pride and confidence. This will surely boost our self-confidence and enhance positive self-esteem.
5. We should be very clear about what we want. There is a time and a place to go along with others but there is also a time to reach for our own dreams.
6. We should avoid being timid. Aggressive people tend to step into the rights of others whereas passive people go on sacrificing their own rights just to please others.
7. The ability to say either YES or NO clearly and to be able to stand for the answer makes a person assertive. We should develop our opinions and maintain them.
8. Avoiding arrogance is another important point. The tendency to dominate and control others is often disliked by people. Such attitude needs to be overcome.
9. We need to learn to value ourselves and our viewpoints. At the same time, people around us should be able to understand our viewpoint and recognize those as significant.

A win-win approach is an example of assertiveness. The goal of assertive behaviour goes much beyond just speaking for one's own rights. One should be able to create an urge to listen in the mind of the other person. We need to respect our own rights and also the feelings and sentiments of others.

The Golden rule is to speak to others in a way they wish to be spoken to. Dr. Stephen Covey in his famous book '7 habits of highly effective people' said that we should try to understand the emotions behind words spoken by others.

Books available on the topic:

• Your Perfect Right: Assertiveness and Equality in your Life and Relationships, by Robert E. Alberti & Michael Emmons (San Luis Obispo, Impact Publishers, 2001).
• When I Say No, I Feel Guilty, by Manuel Smith (New York: Bantam Books, 1975)
• The Assertive Option: Your Rights & Responsibilities, by Patricia Jakubowski and Arthur J. Lange (Champaign, Ill, Research Press, 1978).

9 Steps to Overcome Procrastination

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Krishna_D.]Krishna D.

Success comes easy to the person who works hard relentlessly. Hard work is the only important factor that can bring success in all spheres of life. It can bring good health, healthy relationships, positive thoughts, pleasant disposition and finally abundance of wealth. We all know that how important it is to work hard.

Sometimes knowing these points fully well, we tend to delay our work. It actually happens with me most of the time, I plan to start something new. I'm sure, it happens with all of us. But why do we delay when we know that time is precious and wasting a single moment will not be good for us. There can be several reasons behind this delay:

1. Perfectionism
2. Multi-tasking
3. Phobias: Fear of the unknown, fear of failure

1. Perfectionism: There are two types of perfectionism: Adaptive and Mal-adaptive.

Mal-adaptive: People with Mal-adaptive perfectionism tend to set unrealistic goals for themselves and often delay work as they think they might not be able to meet the standards set by them. They find any kind of mistake as unacceptable. They think that even the simplest of mistakes can hinder their impression on others. Others may consider them as incompetent. For them, others' opinion of themselves is very important. It is a matter of their self-esteem. This often holds them back from initiating a new work.

Adaptive: People with Adaptive Perfectionism always strive to improve themselves. They are optimistic by nature. They have a healthy and positive approach towards perfectionism.

2. Multi-tasking: Today's busy life-style demands multi-tasking at times. But there are people who often are not able to concentrate on one task at time and even before completing the task at hand they deviate their attention on something else, thereby negligence towards both the task and finally leaving them incomplete.

3. Phobias: Phobias can be of several types. In this context, it can fear of failure and fear of criticism. Sometimes people set unrealistic goals and when they are not able to complete it on time, they reject or dismiss themselves. They suffer from self-criticism and lock themselves in their self-imposed imprisonment thinking that people will reject them and criticize them.

An excessive quest for reaching certain self-prescribed standards of perfectionism can adversely affect a person's overall health and his/her relationship with others. They may suffer from depression, migraine, personality disorders. All these can negatively affect productivity and performance.

The following 9 points suggest that Procrastination can be overcome step by step:

1. Behaviour needs to be identified: We need to find out if we are suffering from mal-adaptive behaviour which is putting us back and is holding us from starting new work or complete the incomplete ones. We need to make a list of things that we wish to do perfectly. We also need to find out the usual things we postpone because of the fear of imperfection. Self introspection will give a clarity and we can help ourselves in overcoming procrastination.

2. Each behaviour needs to dealt with, one by one. Once we identify the areas where we usually tend to procrastinate, we can challenge those areas and work on it. We need to face the weak areas and strive to come out of it. For example, if a person finds it difficult to delegate work and every time works very hard to do everything by himself, only because of his own designed standards of perfectionism, he should try to delegate a small piece of work and wait till the work gets done. Step by step approach will help in getting things done on time and through effective supervision certain standards of perfectionism can be achieved.

3. Goals need to be specific and realistic in nature. We need to set only those goals which are achievable within a certain time frame and with the available resources. Goals are dreams with a deadline. We need to make a list of our long-term dreams. And then set long-term, mid-term and short-term goals for each dream. Here the time should be very specific. Short time goals can be set on hourly, daily and weekly basis. Every time we need to ask ourselves very clearly "Will I be able to complete this work in another one hour's time?" And an honest answer based on an understanding of our own abilities and other circumstances will help us in taking the right decision. Once we are able to accomplish small goals, we will be able to get back our self-esteem and the confidence to achieve the next goal and all other goals increase.

4. Understanding our own emotions. Every time we set a goal, we need to check if we have set a goal which is too high and practically not possible to achieve within the allotted time. Listening to our own mind will help in finding the right amount of time needed to accomplish a work.

5. Overcome fear of failure: We need not so harsh on ourselves. Self-criticism can badly hurt our self-esteem. Mistakes are made by everyone. Mistakes and failures enable us to learn a lot from them. These should be taken as learning experiences. Each mistake takes us a step closer to our goal as we discover one way which we need to avoid while doing it the next time.

6. Self-criticism must be avoided: We need to check what we say to ourselves. Negative self talks hamper our self image and may curb our confidence to face the world. Positive self talk energizes us with optimism and courage to do deliver our best. We should be confident of our own abilities and appreciate ourselves for our good qualities instead of setting too high personal expectations and rules.

7. Self-discipline: Self-discipline is one of the most important measures to over procrastination. Self-discipline involves time-management. We should be very clear about priorities in life. We need to analyze and focus upon things which are important for us and consider allocating time for each action appropriately so that we can make best use of our time without compromising our comfort, happiness, relaxation and our mental as well as physical well-being.

8. Time for self: We need to find time for our hobbies or for other things in life which gives happiness and relaxation like reading, photography or even playing with children. Life will become a burden if we constantly think about goals and deadlines. We need to enjoy and live the present time joyfully. This sort of small escapes will lead to positive thoughts and clarity of mind.

9. Focus single-mindedly on the task at hand: Focus and concentration of mind has tremendous power. Whatever we do, if we give our 100% attention to it, nothing can stop us from finishing the work on time thereby generating a feeling of wellbeing.

The above listed points can help us in overcoming the problem of procrastination.

My wish to weave words into forms

I wish to plan and plan to organise,
I wish to utilise my time more constructively and more productively.
I wish to write and write and keep writing and what will I write, I do not know,
but I do wish to write more and more and continue doing so ceaselessly without any interruption.

I feel as I write words would flow and the closed doors of my mind would get re-opened and the accumulated thoughts, nurtured dreams, the worries, the agonies, memories of turbulent times.....all thoughts somewhere suppressed in some corner of my mind would be ventilated.....
I wish to write about the cherished dreams,
dreams of wishes again, wishes which are unfulfilled and accomplishments unattained....
I wish to create a wish-list, for myself....
but are those wishes I used to have....
where are those?????????/
There were wishes, dreams, aspirations....where have they all gone, I cannot find any....
probably I can re-discover those hidden treasure buried under layers and layers of discouragements and obstacles created by the the time to time changing atmosphere....
I now wish that if I write, I will be able to bring back that zeal, that enthusiasm, that vibrance, that cheerfullness, I used to have earlier.....
now I feel the necessity to bring that zest for life back to my life,
and writing can help me doing so....
I wish I could write and play with words even with closed eys because sometimes with closed eyes, we get to see things which are unreal, imagination, fantasy and weave words with colours as vibrant as rainbow and thoughts as free as the flow of a river....
Yes, I love to write as it makes me happy. They say that one should find time for doing things that give happiness. I ask myself, do I have time for myself.....
Sometimes, I feel, yes I do have time for myself but if that time, truly belongs to me, how can I feel guilty for the same.....why is this mind chained with burden s of guilt....
This thought again brings me back to where Iam
my writing has not yet taken a start

Passive Aggressive type of personality

Since quite a long time, I have been thinking of writing about passive-aggressive type of personality. People with Passive-Aggressive type of personality lack confidence to express their feelings directly/openly and always take an indirect medium to express themselves. The reasons behind such behaviour can lack of confidence, insecurity [again a result of low confidence] and negative attitude. Sometimes after doing something wrong, they deliberately try to irritate the other person, in an indirect and passive manner, forcing that person to perform an equally wrong task.
They always try to show that they are very innocent and are victimized by others [aggressive people]. They have brilliant convincing skills and often found to misconstruct and mis-represent sentences spoken by others, to their own advantage. They use their facial expressions, intonations and punctuation [while speaking] to convince someone that they are truly very innocent.
They express their dislike through their body language and sarcastic words to convey their feelings targeted only to the person of dislike and others may be totally unaware of their behaviour as their expression of dislike/aggression is in a very passive manner.
They are often found to talk ill about about X to Z [in the absence of Z ofcourse] and vice versa. This is the best example of passive aggressive behaviour.
There are numerous examples of such behaviour. This behaviour is actually a denfense mechanism they employ against their own insecurities. They want things to happen as per their own convenience but they do all arrangements in disguise and indirectly. And at the same time, they want everyone like them and appreciate them.

Top 10 Ways to be Effectively Assertive !!!

The Top 10 Ways to be Effectively Assertive!!!

There are 3 personality types : Aggressive, passive and the ASSERTIVE.

Aggressive people are dominating and often offensive. "What you say is wrong, what I say is right!" best describes their attitude. They always like to win.
Passive people are timid and submissive. They think "what you say is right and I'm wrong!". They lack confidence and always support the dominating ones.
The best personality type is the Assertive type. They are confident and show respect to people who deserve but not at the cost of their own self respect. Their policy is "what you say is right, at the same time, what I say is also right!". While dealing with people they maintain the right balance of being confident enough to be assertive of personal rights and boundaries while respectful of others.

These are the 10 methods, according to Robert G. Jerus, which will enable us to be more assertive thereby maintain a harmonious relation with others.

1. Knowing the distinction between being assertive versus being aggressive or arrogant is very important.Assertive people believe in promoting their own rights rather than stepping on those of others.
2. Having clear boundaries while dealing with others.
If we are clear about our limits and boundaries, others will also come to know about their limits as well.
3. We should let people know your position politely without allowing our position or point of view be ignored. Our needs are also important.
4. We should affirm ourselves and our good qualities with pride and confidence. This will surely boost our self-confidence and positive self-esteem.
5. We should be very clear about what we want. There is a time and a place to go along with others but there is also a time to reach for our own dreams.
6. We should avoid being timid. While aggressiveness steps on the rights of others, being overly timid leads to sacrifice of own rights.
7. A very important point. We should be capable of saying either YES or NO clearly and to be able to stand by our answer. We should develop our own opinions and maintain them.
8. Avoiding arrogance is another important point.Dominance and controlling tendencies create dislike.
9. Others should know our viewpoint and recognize that it is significant.
10.Finally, we should know how to take responsibility for ourselves.

Tanha

Songs are like soul for me. I always keep humming in my mind. Lyrics are very important for me. Since my childhood days meaningful lyrics have always attracted me. Last few days, a song is going on in my mind. It actually is the title track of a TV serial named 'Tanha' which was on TV nearly 10 years ago.The lyrics of the song goes like this:

"Dekhiye to lagta hai zindagi ki raahon mein ek bheed chalti hai
Sochiye to lagta hai bheed mein hai sab tanha
Jitne bhi ye rishte hai
Kaanch ke khilone hai
Pal mein toot sakte hai
Ek pal mein ho jaaye koi jaane kab tanha

Dekhiye to lagta hai jaise ye jo duniya hai
Kitni rangeen mehfil hai
Sochiye to lagta hai kitna gham hai duniya mein
Kitna zakhmi har dil hai
Woh jo muskurate the
Jo kisi ko khwabo mein apne pass paate the
Unki neend tooti hai
Aur hai woh ab tanha
Dekhiye to lagta hai zindagi ki raahon mein ek bheed chalti hai
Sochiye to lagta hai bheed mein hai sab tanha."
